August Gemstone Dragon

This pretty green dragon was stitched for my daughter. She wanted one of her own since I had already stitched dragons for my sister and myself. I finished it as a small bellpull (click on photo at right).

The Gemstone Dragons series was a free set of charts offered by Dragon Dreams in 2001. They're no longer available on the site but will be available for purchase in chart form sometime in the future.

Some notes:

I backstitched the dragon in DMC 986 and its claws in DMC 420, instead of everything in black.
The eye is in DMC 890 with the highlight in DMC 772.
The lettering is from the booklet "365 Alphabets" by American School of Needlework.
There were two versions (at least) of this chart posted on the Dragon Dreams site. The second one is a correction of the first (foot on the right was fixed).
